About

Welcome to BridgesToBoulder.com - The Borderland Edition. This site part of the on-going project of mine, known as a personal website. BridgesToBoulder.com was originally created in June 2002 to keep a blog of my experiences and adventures in Krasnodar, Russia. Since returning from Russia in 2003, I spent some time working as a web developer before once again heading off to the Former Soviet Union in the spring of 2007.

Developing and implementing websites has been an interest and source of income since I first discovered the joys of html and php in college. Along the way, I’ve picked up an interesting fascination with the Russian language. I’m still working on finding a way to mesh these two aspects of life into a career.

This edition of BridgesToBoulder is titled “The Borderland Edition” and began as a chronicle of my time with the United States Peace Corps serving in Ukraine as a Community Development Volunteer. I arrived in Ukraine in March 2007 and after three months of language and cultural training swore-in as an official Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) and moved to my assigned site in Eastern Ukraine. In the spring of 2008, I returned to the states and started the next adventure in Washington DC.

As the disclaimer states, all of the content and opinions expressed within this website are strictly my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the U.S. Government, the Peace Corps, the Ukrainian Government, or any other organization. Furthermore, the comments and opinions may, from time to time, be a bit off color. Most of the time any offense caused was not intended and it’s always good to remember that ’sticks and stones can break my bones but words will not hurt me’.
